I have been going to Pete's for years, and when my son was born, I started bringing him, and he's now 12. I always get a great haircut and wash, and when I feel indulgent, I get a shave. It's old school and it is the best. Plus, it is the most fun you can have while sitting down. Joy, Maureen and Frankie always have a good story to tell and great music playing, and a delightful garden out back that you can hang out in. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Joy,

Do you charge less if I don’t want a hair wash. I always wash my hair prior to a haircut because I don’t like anyone else washing my hair.

hi tom , this is the first time anyone has commented. so I just want to share with you the prices have gone up.. since I did this website.. the price of a haircut is $25.00 and that includes a shampoo so the answer is no. but you don't need another one we can just wet it if that is your preference.. thanks for your question

Do you guys take walk-ins, or is it easier to make an appointment?

Can you put your hours and days open on your website, and can you make it so you can book an appointment online?

I would say this is one of the best article I’ve read.. From beginning to end you nailed it totally. as we provide barber shop downtown Vancouver for more info visit our site.

Our Story

Here’s a short history of Pete's Barber Shop. The barber shop has been located at various locations, all on Grant Avenue in Novato. The first 'Pete' was Clarence Peters. He owned the barber shop from sometime in the early 1940's until just after 1970. Mr. Peters sold the barber shop to Jake Vanderziel, the second 'Pete'. Joy Ambra, the third 'Pete' and current owner, worked for Jake for a decade. Joy bought the building (at the current location) in old town in 1988. Jake sold the business to Joy in 1989 and then came to work for her for 10 years until his retirement. Joy is a second generation barber; Joy’s father owned a barber shop one block from the White House in Washington D.C. Joy says, “I wanted the old time feel of the barber shop of the past, like the one in Mayberry, R.F.D. A place where everyone comes by to play checkers... It’s the first modern old fashioned barbershop; a place for the whole family!”
